Frank Lloyd Wright

I stayed in a Frank Lloyd Wright house last night. Opened my eyes to the art of architecture. Wright was recognized in 1991 by the American Institute of Architects as "the greatest American architect of all time". He created 500 projects in the first half of the 20th century. I had the privilege to stay at "Woodside" in Marion, Indiana.

It was built between 1952-55, 4 years before he died. The innovations in it were all completely foreign to me. Every single element in the house was something built in a way I had never seen. All the furniture, the doors, the closets, the showers, the windows, the floor and even the walls were an original idea.

The wood was an exotic dark wood, the floors were waxed concrete, and the heat came from the floor. There was a weird thing with sound and lights going on in the house and every inch was a comfortable temperature.

The doghouse he created looked like Snoopy's.

The place was amazing. Please read more about Frank Lloyd Wright's "WOODSIDE" here http://wikimarion.org/Woodside

So long, Frank Lloyd Wright.
